Had a lovely drive down to the Del Mar Horse Park today. One of those rare times where I actually get to watch a sunrise.

We had a few mishaps in Excellent today, I tend to get a bit frazzled when I have to go in the ring first and don’t have much time to warm up after the walkthrough. On top of that, I stepped on my poor dog’s paw on the “back up 3 steps” exercise and from that point on he was wary for the rest of our run and not focusing too well.

Out of 7 or 8 dogs, 5 qualified and we got beaten for fourth place by one lousy point! 😉

Advanced was much better, even though we had some crooked fronts and he was still a bit hesitant from getting stepped on, so it wasn’t a very brisk performance. Still, we got a 3rd place and about half the group didn’t even qualify so it’s not too bad.

This is the 3rd leg toward our RAE2.
