Rally Marathon 2010, and a little Obedience too!
Some of you may still remember our Rally Marathon last year. Well, I’m completely addicted to Rally so we did it again, and also some Obedience on top of that!
The nice thing was that the dates were not quite as close as last year (December 4th, 5th, 6th, 9th, 10th, 11th). We trialed December 1st, 2nd and 3rd and again 10th (2 shows), 11th and 12th.
The days went by in quite a blur, we earned another 7 RAE legs in consecutive double qualifiers, earning our RAE3 title on Saturday December 11th. Last year we only managed one placement in those 14 runs (3rd place), this year we got two 2nd places and in the very last run of this year a 4th place, beating 12 other dogs – the highest number so far (our trials out here are quite small, with an average of about 8 dogs in a group). I can’t express how excited I am!
In addition to all the great rally runs he did, Quigley also earned his 2nd leg in Graduate Novice on 12/11, winning his class with a score of 181.5. We tried for the final leg the next day, but sadly he dropped his dumbbell and we didn’t qualify. That was really too bad, because his heeling was much better than the previous day and we could have had an even higher score and won the class again. The only dog who did qualify that day missed many sits during heeling and anticipated most of the finishes. Ah well, we’ll qualify another day.
