AKC Rally & Obedience
Quigley and I attended our second AKC Rally trial and our first AKC Obedience trial today.
Rally at 11 am was not a problem, he was a little sloppy but did everything he was supposed to do, so we got a 94 and 2nd place. The first place team only beat us by one point.
By noon it was not just hot but really hot (95 F, ack), and when I tried taking Quigley through his paces before our obedience run, he just flopped into a down on every command other than “heel” (and on my hand signal to come front he rolled over, great…), so I gave up and we just sat and watched the other dogs until it was our turn.
Due to the heat I went into the ring without any expectations, but once again my little terrierhead surprised me – but this time positively. We scored a 184 (2nd place, out of 4 dogs) even though our heel free was wayyyy too “free”.
I was relieved when the first part was over, but honestly expected Quigley would go into a down during the group sit, but he stayed put. 🙂 Good boy!
Yay for unexpected accomplishments!
