Well, I have better news today!<\/p>\n
We got one qualifying score and ended up with 194 points, including the (perfectly performed) bonus exercise, even though my goofy dog made me redo exercises for flopping down in the grass (including frog legs with a belly crawl) when supposed to come to front and something else I forgot.<\/p>\n
We didn’t qualify in the run this morning, but not due to handler errors or Quigley doing exercises wrong – but can you believe that about halfway through the course he veered off to the side and pooped in the ring???<\/p>\n
I arrived at the park over 2 hours early and gave him several good runs on and off leash, and he did all his business so I thought we were safe – but nooooo…<\/p>\n
Side note: apparently the reason I NQ’d in our second run yesterday was that I wasn’t aware food rewards are only allowed after completing a stationary exercise. I didn’t give many at all (during the qualifying run today none, in fact!), but gave them after exercises Quigley usually has some trouble with.<\/p>\n
Ah well – live and learn, and this whole thing definitely was a good learning experience. I’m looking forward to the next event already.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
