So today Quigley and I braved the ring again! \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n
We had a good run in the first trial, qualifying with a score of 174 and -surprise- placing third in our group (out of 7 dogs). Precision wasn’t so good, we had a few deductions for lagging and tight leashes during the heel on leash, a not-so-steady stand for exam, a “wandering” episode during the heel free that caused me to have to call Quigley to heel again, and a sloppy front on the recall over the jump.<\/p>\n
The second trial could have been a 186 if my silly little guy hadn’t propped himself up into a sit from his honor down about halfway through. He even got all the points for the stand for exam with the male judge today. The other deductions were for crooked sits, heeling wide and minor tight leashes (this was worse today than yesterday).<\/p>\n
Once again I’m very, very happy with the outcome and both judges told me that I have a nice working dog who could go far. We’ll certainly continue working on that! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
